Mid-Michigan Product Photography for Natural Skincare Brands
If you're a natural skincare brand looking for clean, soft, and intentional product imagery, this mid-Michigan product photography session is full of inspiration. Shot in my photography studio, this gallery highlights the beautiful lineup of skincare essentials from Naive Necessities, a mom-owned brand based in Pennsylvania.
We focused on a range of their all-natural products including SPF cream, tanning oil, arnica massage oil, whipped body polish, and more. The mission behind Naive Necessities is close to my heart: creating safe, effective products for the whole family, including kids and those with sensitive skin. Their values made it easy to design a shoot that felt just as gentle and genuine as their brand.
Product Photography with Purpose: Featuring Naive Necessity
For the flat lays, I used fresh floral blooms from my garden to bring in a pop of organic texture and softness. My new white prop blocks and neutral-toned backdrops helped keep the focus on the products, while still creating visual interest.
This was also the first session where I used my new white vanity and beige couch in the studio. They added such a beautiful lifestyle feel to the images, perfect for showing how these products live in real spaces. It made the modeled shots feel clean, minimal, and elevated. I also incorporated a gorgeous bouquet from Flowerbird Farm in Mount Pleasant for the modeled shots, and it truly elevated the photos.
To light the scene, I used off-camera flash with my trusty lantern softbox (affectionately known as "The Onion") to keep things looking soft and natural. It gave just the right glow without overpowering the texture and color of the products.
